About the project

Woolwich Leisure Centre is the new community leisure centre, located in heart of Woolwich, London.

The project will provide a wide range of state-of-the-art facilities to encourage families, young people and adults to be more active. Located in the heart of Woolwich town centre, the 12,800m sq, three-storey facility is set to become one of the country’s largest urban leisure centres when it opens in 2025. The new leisure centre is a key part of the Royal Borough of Greenwich’s ambitious regeneration plans for Woolwich. Morgan Sindall has worked closely with the Council to design and develop a centre that will provide the local community with opportunities to get more active, including people with disabilities. Due to the confined nature of the site, the Morgan Sindall team is delivering a stacked solution with the sports hall, gym and cardio rooms on the upper floors and training, 25m and leisure pools on the ground floor.

Working in the Greenwich community

Making a positive difference in the communities we work is a vital part of our responsible business plan. Our Community Investment Group supports our project teams in the delivery of local community engagement projects. The London team is part of the wider London & Home Counties business unit, which operates out of four regional offices, the Euston office being associated with this project.

Monica Paul, Social Value Manager, is the dedicated community contact for this Project and will maintain communications with neighbours and the surrounding community. If you have any questions, please do get in touch with us via the contact form at the bottom of the page with any queries regarding the project.

As a business we are proud members of the Considerate Constructors Scheme, which has a Code of Considerate Practice designed to encourage best practice beyond statutory requirements.

This page will provide a snapshot of activities we have been undertaking in the local community.
