Here's the latest update
Site activities:
- May saw the completion of the concrete pours to the bunker and now the structure must sit untouched for 4 weeks to let the concrete cure ahead of the second phase of steelwork.
- We also continued forming and boarding the external wall with the focus being on Block 2 so we can look to start the internal walls in this critical area.
- The roofing to Block 1 is almost complete, and the roofers will soon be moving down to the Block 2 roof to look to get the building watertight.
Community Engagement
This month the Morgan Sindall team have been working hard alongside the hospital team to plan to install some permanent works early, ahead of schedule. The team are looking to double up the install of the Link 1 steelwork, that will tie into the existing Cancer Centre, with the install of the permanent staff footpath. This has meant planning to divert the hospital staff, providing a safe and familiar route to the workplace, through the Morgan Sindall compound.
Work Experience
This month, James has been working hard to develop an app for the procurement and logging materials on site. This enables the team to track what materials have been ordered and that they have come from the correct supplier.
What’s Coming Up
In June we hope to complete the last of the building structure once the Bunker has fully cured.
We are also aiming to achieve water tightness, by progressing the roofs and installing some of the windows, to kick start the internal works.
