HEADLINES:

👷 Created 437 new vacancies on the project for people who were previously unemployed or were employed specifically for the Manor Road project.

🎓 7 graduates working on the project.

👷 77 operatives/employees working on the Manor Road project in March, of which 37 were from the borough of Newham, this equates to 10%.

👷 38 apprentices appointed by Morgan Sindall Construction and our subcontractors.

Work Experience & T-Level

📚 Provided 34 students with work experience placement - 18 placed directly with Morgan Sindall Construction and the remaining 16 with our subcontractors.

👨‍🎓 We have a third T-Level student from the London Design Engineering UTC on the Manor Road project, on a 45-day industrial placement with the Site Management team.

🏗️ This month our MEP subcontractor offered two LDEUTC T-Level students a 45-day industrial placement to work on the Manor Road project.

🏫 Engaged with 2644 students and supported 45 school/college events in the borough. We have invested 2507 staff hours in school/college engagement events.

Other

✅ 10 Newham Residents completed a Level 1, 2, 3 accreditations in March.

✅ 15 employees/operatives have completed an NVQ Level 3 or above.

✅ 214 operatives from our supply chain have completed a short course.

💗 Invested 160 staff hours in the community.

💸 Donated £1334 towards local community projects.

💸 Spent £6,620 on Social Enterprise businesses.

Wider community engagement

• Using our new Knowledge Quad, we delivered a CSCS card training to unemployed Newham residents. 10 people completed and obtained a CSCS card on the 8th of March. We invited Newham Council to meet the learners on the last day, to share details of construction jobs in Newham.
• In March, the Manor Road team supported a careers fair at London Design Engineering UTC (LDEUTC). We engaged with over 100 students from year groups 9 to 13 at the all-day event.
• Our team met with London Design Engineering UTC (LDEUTC) to discuss T-Level student progress on the Manor Road site. In addition, LDEUTC asked for advice on CSCS card training for college students. As a result, we introduced Build Skill to the college.
• In March, Tom Copley, Deputy Mayor for Housing and Residential Development visited the Manor Road Quarter site. Tom was given a tour of the new affordable homes a day before the first residents were due to move in. Tom also received an update on Social Value achievements on the project.
• On March 19th, a second round of the CSCS card training course started in the Manor Road Knowledge Quad; 15 Newham residents are taking part in the 8-day course.
