The Morgan Sindall team were delighted to attend a S2/S3 Careers Event - timed to take place just before pupils make their subject choices to ensure they are armed with as much knowledge as possible regarding career pathways.
Nicole McIntosh, HR Business Partner, and Rachael Topping, Learning & Development Advisor ran 5 45-minute workshops. The workshops began by opening a conversation with the pupils around career pathways in construction, followed by our Let’s Stick Together team-building construction activity which sees teams compete to construct a structure as per the design and to cost.
Whilst the workshops were ongoing, Katie Darroch, Trainee Quantity Surveyor, and Kieran Mullen, Trainee Site Manager, ran careers stand for the duration of the day which gave pupils the opportunity to speak to the Trainees and understand their pathways into the industry and ask any questions they may have.
Throughout the course of the day the team engaged with 300 S2 and S3 pupils plus approx. 60 senior pupils who took time over their break and lunch to find out more.
Thank you so much for not only attending the Careers Fair last Thursday, but for running a superb workshop. The pupils thoroughly enjoyed it and I understand it got quite competitive. - Jan Kilmurry, PT Pupil Support / DYW Lead
